Christian ROBERT-TISSOT

Christian Robert-Tissot symetria

Born in Switzerland in 1960, Christian Robert-Tissot is a visual artist and professor based in Geneva, currently teaching at HAED. His artistic oeuvre revolves around the fusion of everyday expressions with graphic constructions reminiscent of typography.

In 2010, Tissot participated in an exhibition alongside various artists in Tucson, USA, at MOCA, in collaboration with Olivier Mosset. By juxtaposing typography with vectorial lines, Tissot communicates the diverse methods of interpreting text and understanding visual compositions. His fascination with the neo-geo or neo-geometrical movement stems from his studies under Carmen Perrin and the Défraoui couple at HAED. Tissot’s artworks transcend specific knowledge or prerequisites, as they incorporate language, words, and common conversational codes. Accessible to both art enthusiasts and the general public, his pieces resonate with a large audience.
